Tip Top Cleaners was established in 1984 as a neighborhood dry cleaner in Portland’s Kerns district, under the ownership of Mickie and Scott McClure. For decades it served locals with dry cleaning, wedding tailoring, and clothing alterations, earning a reputation as a reliable, affordable option for everyday and fine garments alike, especially prized for handling sweaters and wool without leaving that telltale “dry cleaner” smell. The business was easy to spot along East Burnside thanks to its large vintage neon sign, a small landmark in its own right. The location has since transitioned, with Tip Top Vintage now operating out of the same storefront.

All packages are insured via PirateShip.com for its full value via its InsureShield program. International shipping is available, please choose the option at checkout and then contact us for a quote. International shipping has many options and we will work with you to get you the best rate and service.

United States shipping rates:

Returns:

Except for damaged units in shipment, our policy is generally to not accept returns because each piece is handmade, produced in limited quantities and created on-demand.
We will consider a return on a case by case basis provided the item is unused and in its original packaging.
Custom or commissioned pieces are final sale unless the item arrives damaged or defective.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to our error or a defective item.

Warranty:

We warranty the electronics and the integrity of the art piece for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase. By “integrity”, we mean that we warranty the customization of the backing and framing materials. These are art pieces and should be handled with care and placed in normal, indoor environments. Not for use outdoors or in exceedingly humid environments. It’s recommended to keep your print out of direct sunlight.

We use the highest quality duratrans backlit film in the industry. Each print is produced on 10mm archival-grade backlit film, the same material used in museum lightboxes and high-end retail displays. Lit from behind by low-heat LEDs rather than old-style fluorescent tubes, the image is exposed to far less UV than traditional lightbox signage — which means the color stays rich and the blacks stay deep for years of everyday display.

Keep it out of direct sunlight, wipe the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth, and it’ll hold its glow for a long time to come!
